  • Blood flow to muscles in the arms, legs & face

  • Movements to warm up for a fight, e.g. cracking knuckles

Anger Treatment

Anger is a survival response to protect ourselves or our interests when they are threatened. If anger is frequent, outsized or inappropriate it means that something from our past that is unresolved is being triggered. If we make more space for the emotion of anger, we can help to complete what is unresolved so that it no longer needs to automatically drive our behavior.

By inserting time between trigger and response, we can learn to feel our anger without acting compulsively. We can then strike while the iron is cool in a manner that is powerful and effective & does not create later regret. We are no longer “taken over” by our anger. Our anger then becomes a trusted advisor to us rather than an errant rogue and we can speak for it, rather than from it.
