Complex trauma
I specialize in somatic & body-based therapies to help clients reconnect with their bodies, regulate their nervous systems, and heal the effects of trauma and chronic stress.
I have extensive experience supporting clients with mind-body conditions, anxiety disorders, and complex trauma. I have worked in intensive treatment settings including UCLA’s Child/Adolescent Anxiety, OCD and Tic Disorder Clinic and UCLA’s Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital Intensive Partial Hospitalization Program.
Before becoming a therapist, I worked as a fashion designer in New York City for Calvin Klein, and later as a costume designer and production designer in Los Angeles. In my free time, I enjoy movement, the creative arts, and spending time immersed in practices like dance, drawing, and play.
Therapy With Me
I specialize in somatic and body-based approaches to therapy. I guide clients to reconnect with their bodies, reset their nervous systems, and access easy, practical tools that empower them to reclaim control of their lives. My approach is mindfulness-based and somatically oriented, drawing heavily from:
Somatic Experiencing
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT),
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT),
Narrative Therapy, &
Internal Family Systems (IFS).
I work to create a safe and supportive harbor for healing, resilience, and lasting transformation. Having personally overcome a chronic health condition, I deeply understand the complexities of psychosomatic symptoms and the powerful healing that can happen through integrated mind-body therapy.
Treatment Approach
Somatic therapy focuses on the body's innate ability to heal. In our work together, I teach practices that support your nervous system to move toward regulation, or homeostatic balance. These practices help you be with challenging sensations, allowing energy to shift and release, rather than accumulate and overwhelm.
Through Somatic Experiencing and mindfulness-based techniques, we expand your window of tolerance, so your nervous system naturally spends more time in a parasympathetic, “rest and digest” state instead of remaining stuck in a stress response.
We will also gently explore and unburden the original traumas that may continue to shape your current reactions. By meeting and befriending the protective parts of yourself, we help these parts calm, integrate, and contribute to your resilience and vitality.
Over time, you’ll build a personalized toolkit to manage symptoms with confidence. As you stop fearing your symptoms, they begin to lose their power — and your full life can come back into focus.
