Life transitions
I am a Filipino-American engineer-turned-psychotherapist and my holistic approach honors the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit.
I work with individuals and couples on a range of issues including:
I specialize in supporting clients who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or burdened by past trauma. I have extensive experience working with BIPOC, AAPI, Filipinx, LGBTQIA+ communities, couples, and adolescents.
Before becoming a therapist, I worked in engineering, operations, client management, and marketing for organizations including the World Bank Group and several start-ups. In my free time, I enjoy outdoor adventures, spending time with family and rescue dogs, practicing yoga, and volunteering in my community.
Therapy With Me
I bring a holistic, trauma-informed, and somatic approach to therapy that honors the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit. I combine somatic interventions, narrative therapy, and EMDR to help clients heal at a profound level. I am also a certified 500-hour Clinical Yoga Practitioner, and I integrate mindfulness and movement into therapy when appropriate.
Together, we’ll explore the patterns and beliefs that may be holding you back, while helping you reclaim your inner strength, cultivate resilience, and live authentically. I strive to create an inclusive and compassionate space where you can heal and thrive.
My Treatment Approach
I work collaboratively with clients to examine and rewrite the stories they tell themselves about their lives. Drawing from my structured and systematic background, I guide clients to tune into their bodily sensations and facilitate the deep processing of emotions through somatic interventions.
I teach practices that support your nervous system in moving toward regulation, or homeostatic balance. These practices help you stay present with challenging sensations, allowing energy to shift and release, rather than accumulate.
Over time, your window of tolerance expands, and your nervous system naturally spends more time in a parasympathetic, “rest and digest” state, even as you move through daily life.
Together, we also work to unburden the original traumas that live on as hypersensitivity to threat. By meeting and befriending the protective parts of yourself, these parts can integrate and contribute to a more vital and responsive way of living.
Through this process, you will build a personalized toolkit to manage symptoms and challenges going forward. When symptoms lose their power over you, they often begin to naturally fade into the background as your full life returns to the forefront.
